About Drew

Drew Lane has been writing musicals since the age of 15. In that time, he has written more than 30 musicals (most of them staged), composed music to various productions and films, been involved in live and studio recordings, and has garnered a few awards along the way.

Drew’s style of music is contemporary rock opera, akin to the compositions of Johnathon Larson, Jason Robert Brown and Stephen Schwartz. With strong melodies and musical hooks, many of those who have attended productions of Drew’s musicals leave uplifted and singing. It’s Drew’s ultimate aim to see his musicals reach a broader audience than is able to be achieved in Australia.

Drew lives in the suburbs of Melbourne and is married with three beautiful boys!
