CHARITY SHAW: Female.
EXPERIENCE: Charity's theatre credits are many and varied, including nearly a dozen short play readings in the last six months for Crash Test Drama and the Melbourne Short & Sweet Festival, “Abby” in Chasing Pegasus – A Play in Ten Chords (2006 Melbourne Fringe Festival and Victorian Seniors Festival), "Emily" in Milko (2004 Playbox Theatre in the Raw), "Jackie" in Dream Like Me (2003 3D Festival grant winner). During her time at the National Theatre Drama School whilst completing her 3 year Diploma of Arts (Acting) she also played "Sita" in The Ramayana, "Chi'Yun" in Fanshen, "Olga" in The Three Sisters, "Antigone" in Antigone amongst many other productions.
Upon graduation of the National Theatre Drama School in 2004 she received the prestigious Joan Harris Award. Charity's other awards include in 2007 – Best Actress April Crash Test Drama, 2000 - David Jaanz School of Singing Excellence Award, and the VCE Excellence Award for her Theatre Studies Performance CAT in 1995. This year she is also keeping busy with workshops in voiceover, accents and Viewpoints and currently studying Audition process with Richard Sarell at the Rehearsal Room in Melbourne.
Charity is also a singer, working with The Melbourne Chorale, the Australian Choir for the World Choral Symposium, the Geelong Youth Choir and most recently performing on the soundtrack of the new Australian musical Marking Life in the role of "Lisa" for Captivation Musicals. Recently she performed as a presenter in a TV Pilot not yet released, and a guest spot on an upcoming comedy series on Channel 9. She volunteers as a voice over artist for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Australia to record their on hold Wish Stories.
